The M-28/29 weapon system was a tactical nuclear device to use in an unconventional invasion. The "Davy Crokett" was the lay name for the recoiless rifle capable of firing a nuclear projectile called the M-388. This cold war gun was named after the American folk hero Davy Crockett.
